TeamRosin’s newest edition to the team! This is the Xpress. This compact press has dual heated 4″x4″ plates placed above a powerful 10-ton hydraulic ram (20,000psi). The Xpress has a thick steel uni-ring design for your safety. The frame is constructed with extremely stable X shaped sides. The controller box can be mounted in 3 different positions on the side of the Xpresses Xframe. All of our electrical and hydraulic components have a two year warranty, our frames and plates have a limited lifetime warranty. We do not provide a warranty for the paint, but all components are HD powder coated for a durable surface. This unit comes complete and ready to go out of the box; plug it in, attach the hand pump, and you're in business.

XFRAME: Dimensions: 12”x12”x13.5”

Weight: 40lbs assembled (excluding hand pump).

Coating: White HD Powder coat.

Material: 1/4” thick steel.

Design Features: Our Xpress has a uni-ring design to ensure your safety*

*This solid ring is peace of mind that there is not a weld or hardware holding back the force from the hydraulics. Noted you can see weld on our frames but none of the welds are holding the force. Our welds are there to attach the sides/feet/plate mounts to the uni-ring, but the uni-ring is what is doing the heavy lifting. (ALL FRAMES HAVE LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY)

PRESSING PLATES: Dimensions: 4”x4”x.75”

Material: Aircraft Aluminum.

Specs: 2×100 (watt) heater and 1 thermocouple per plate.

Design Features: Our heater plates have HTRT (Heat Transfer Reduction Technology) CNC Machined into every plate. This feature reduces heat up times and reduces heat transfer from the plates to the steel frame. The most important aspect of this design, is to prevent the use of composite insulator materials in between our frames and our press plates. Composite materials can breakdown and release small particles that can contaminate your product. Many other Press companies have to use these materials, mainly because their hydraulic rams are attached directly to one of their heated press plates. Our team has designed our press with a floating bottom press plate that only connects when under pressure. This means no continuous heat transfer to your hydraulics. (ALL PLATES HAVE LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY)

XPRESS CONTROLLER: Dimensions: 4”x5.75”x8”

Material: Aircraft Aluminum.

Specs: Uses regular 110v (410watts) wall power.

Coating: Black HD Powder Coat and Brushed aluminum.

Features: Duel pid control give the ability to control the top and bottom plate separately. Our controllers come pre-tested and calibrated to -+ 2 degrees of actual plate surface temps. Programmable from 0-240 degrees F. Our units can reach much hotter temps but we only recommend going up to 240 degrees F. We went with larger controller screens for visibility and larger buttons for ease of use. (ALL ELECTRONICS HAVE A TWO YEAR WARRANTY)

HYDRAULICS: Specs: 10-ton (20,000psi) ram and a hand pump with a pressure gauge.

Design Features: We positioned our hydraulics underneath the pressing plates just incase your ram ever blows a seal and leaks oil. The oil will be flowing down away from your material. (ALL HYDRAULICS HAVE TWO YEAR WARRANTY)

PRESSURE AT MATERIAL: First; What is the Pressure at Material?

Pressure at Material or (psi at material) is exactly that, how much psi is being applied to the actual material in between the plates.

Second; Why is this important?

psi at material, is one of the most important factors when it comes to any press. This is because it determines how much yield will actually come from the material. Despite this, it is grossly overlooked by most other companies. Who only take into consideration, the psi at ram.

Lastly; How much psi at material is optimal?

After over a year of testing, we have discovered that in order to attain the highest possible yield, you need at least 1600 psi at material. It is important to note, that this is not the same thing as the psi from the ram.

There are 2 factors that contribute to psi at material.

1- psi from the ram (1 ton = 2,000 psi).

2- pre-press material surface area (inches squared).

To calculate this, you need to use the following equation:

psi of the ram / pre-press material surface area

For example (of a common press):

5 tons (10,000 psi) / 12″ squared (3″x4″ pre-press material) = 833.34 psi at material – Way too low!

Example of our Xpress:

10 tons (20,000 psi) / 9″ squared (3″x3″ pre-press material) = 2,222.23 psi at material – More than enough!

This means that with the Xpress, you never have to use the hydraulics at their maximum psi to achieve optimal yields. This also makes your hydraulics last longer.

Maximum recommended load of material is 3 grams per square inch of pre-press area. So the maximum load of the 3″x3″ pre-press mold, is 27 grams of material. We recommend you start out at 14 to 20 grams to learn the material and work your way up. My personal sweet spot is 20 grams per load.
